Long Distance Wolf by Rose Bak

I do not normally read shifter romances. I have really liked vampire romances but avoided shifter ones because the ones I read were strongly linked to mating with strangers with no previous chemistry and it felt unnatural. Then I saw Long Distance Wolf by Rose Bak in a giveaway. The novella was in my TBR for a few months before I read it. The best part of the story was that the female lead revolted against the "destiny thing" and this made the story different from the common shifter romances. The novella also showed that the urge to achieve something and be financially independent isn't limited to any gender. This would have been more impactful if it was a little more elaborated. Some authors tend to extend a 50 page story to 300 pages while some do the opposite. Rose Bak has done the latter for Long Distance Wolf. Pull (2022)

Warning: Contains Spoilers Pull features a girl who goes to a bar after school and is attracted to a man and tries to get him to talk to him. The attempts stop when she finds out that the man is at the bar for a date with her mom. The older man did not show any interest in the girl. The reason for that was not clear from the movie. Maybe young girls aren't his type. Or maybe because he's loyal to the person he's going out with. Laura Marcus looked great in the red dress. And her pendant was cute. My Rating: ⭐3.5/5 Got Game On by Britney Bell through a giveaway at Story Origin. The short contemporary romance was super sweet. A book-worm, Gaia, falls for her brother’s football team player, Blaze. The initial love burn was very good. The book was set in Venice and partially in Milan. The author could have added some details about the city and introduced some important landmarks to the readers. I think this would have improved the book. And all the bibliophiles can relate to “Time passes fast, and I’m deep in the pages of my book when I realize we’re pulling into my brother’s driveway.” Coincidence plays a great role in the Blaze and Gaia’s romance. Blaze goes to Gaia’s shop to buy a gift while traveling in Venice. Is Venice that small? Were there no other gift shops? The way Gaia shifted from “Get a grip, woman” to “Just live in the here and now” was so sweet. It’s strange how love messes up the way we think.
